As I’ve mentioned a few times on GIO, I’ve been planning on re-editing 07 ACS and removing The troll turd king from the mix entirely, I want to know if this is something that’s worthwhile. I’d planned on doing this at some point for my own listening but couldn’t due to time constraints, time is even tighter now but I felt compelled to give it a try.

This 1 segment sample took about 30min, I used fades when necessary and chopped fuck face out when it worked without any effect, I tried my GIO effects but they felt out of place and the fast forward one would have gotten to be way too much, besides sometimes we’re talking about 2-3 seconds for the edit.

He interrupted a lot, and stepped on so many goddamn sentences, I can’t believe they made it a year, i’d forgotten what a toolbag this guy was. It’s going to take over 2hrs per show with just over 200 eps, if I can do two per week I could finish this project by 2012.

Feel free to leave any ideas or feedback below, I think I got 100% of him and his mentions out, this is just a test run so if I missed anything let me know.

  1. Hi Gio,
I think this is a worthwhile project. I am listening to 2006 now, and will listen to 2007, even though it’ll be torture, so I know what everyone is talking about, but I would definitely listen to the edited version. I’m sure many Adam fans would do the same!

would love to hear an edit of ***** while he tries to shove his way in on every single god damned interview. lots of hard work there for you, Giovanni.

Honestly, it’s a completely pointless endevour. Years of work for something only a handful of people will want to listen to. In addition, you’re often cutting off half of a conversation, the result sounds like listening in on someone on the phone – it just doesn’t work.

You can’t change the past, just let it be and remember the good parts of it. Save your time for good things like the GIO podcast and the BCC which sounds really promising.

  4. It would be nice if it “never happened”, but it did happen. Why try to re-write history? There were plenty of great Adam, Teresa and Bald Bryan moments despite the unwanted addition. Besides, it seems like you’d be making more work for yourself needlessly.

Either way, thanks Gio for your hard work in all of this. We all appreciate it.

Yeah, I pretty much agree that it would be more trouble than it’s worth. It’s a boil that’d be nice to lance, but the mess is too big to clean up.
It was cool seeing you pop up at the Denver shows, by the way – I was telling Donnie and Ace about another “Get it on” song, this one from the 80′s (getting it on transcends decades).
It’s by The Woodentops and lyrics include the line “got to get it on” and you can’t beat that. Because getting it on is not something to take lightly.

Gio, really appreciate what you are doing, but what is, is. Don’t want you spending a lot of time editing when we just appreciate what you are doing getting us the tapes (or media).

  8. I completely share in your disdain for Stryker, but I truly believe your talents are better spent creating new media and new connections. Keep making great podcasts and solid bookings.

    Hey Giovanni,

I met you at the Shelby museum in Boulder- you took a picture of me standing over that Cobra bodied go-cart. I just wanted to say thank you for turning me on to your podcast, & again thank you for all the work you’ve done & continue to do. Sorry to hear you’re a United slave- I tried it once in 3/2000 but my buddy who works ramp TOTALLY should’ve warned me to stay out of Reservations. It was a horrible fit & I went back to being a Kroger slave. Anyway, I’ve been diligently listening & have heard that Shelby museum podcast come up once or twice. I assume Adam vetoed it because A) a lot of the cars were at Sears Point for the nat’l convention, & B) Sandy wasn’t there. I kinda wish I’d intro’d myself to Mike August & Donny, at least ’til Donny starts talking back to Adam in an argument, which always causes me to yell out, “He’s your meal ticket, dumbass! Shut the F up & all I wanna hear is, ‘Yessir, Mr. Carolla.’” This is actually the 2nd time I’ve seen your site-nice! The 1st time it wouldn’t load for my 8 yr. old Mac, so I just went to iTunes & subscribed to your ‘cast. Again- great work & I’m very much appreciating having it to listen to during my 10 hr. graveyard shifts at Mother Kroger. BTW, if you wanna interview any more fans (& the way some of those have gone, I wouldn’t blame you for giving up on that), I could draft an outline of what I feel I’d be qualified to talk about having been a fan since 7/96 & perhaps we could get together down the road. T was sure a gracious interview, & I hope your ipod she got you is still working for you- my 7 yr. old one’s jack is wearing out. Good for T & her “real gig”- I know she’s a tortured soul & that steady income really helps her sleep at night. Well, thanks for taking the time to read this, amongst all your other unpaid tasks. Looking forward to the next podcast!
    Sincerely,
    John Gabriella

It may be insanely time consuming but oh what a rewarding end result…Imagine if one could insert a Bonadooch-a-filter between the headphones and one’s ears that played snippets of classical music rather than phlegmy and fabricated tales of alcoholism. I’d like to edit that tool from my memories of 07.

Doing the lord work GIO. Wanted to know what you think about lovelinetapes.com vs. (Site redacted due to piracy) . I wanted to start listening to the golden years from day one and dont want to miss and episode. Its going to be really interesting because I called in on a love line show many years back and cant wait to here my 16 year old pimply ass asking about my hourglass shaped penis.

call me crazy, I don’t mind the troll king – can’t stand Strasser.
I’d be totally happy with you just editing your personal favourites, moment, bits, no specific theme or subject necessary for me…
up to Gio Nr. 40 now – Thank you for your great work!

    one more thing:
    on your blogger page
    http://www.gottogetiton.com
you started to post links of The Champs appearances on other shows and podcasts, which I found incredible helpful…
F.e: Still haven’t found his appearance on the Kevin Smith Pod (there are just too many Smodcasts).
Do you happen to know which one he is on?

    • not my blog, I don’t run that, sorry.

    • Enohead

It’s not my blog, and I don’t run it – but I can certainly help you out. After all, since Adam officially has the world record, I think it’s okay if you listen to another podcast or two.

Adam is on Jay and Silent Bob Get Old, episode 19.
      He’s also on Hollywood Babble-on, episode 27.
